Swindon ladies 1sts battled to a 2-2 drew against Salisbury who were only one place behind them at the start of the game.
Swindon started the match slowly inviting pressure on to themselves as Salisbury took the initiative and scored a scrappy goal.
Swindon upped their game and following some excellent link up play from Rachel King and Julie Lewis led to a strong run down the left hand side of the pitch from Gemma Scrase. Gemma crossed the ball for goal hungry Victoria Stokes to reverse stick the ball into the bottom left hand corner.
Swindon started the second half well with Linda Brouwers and Charlie George dominating the midfield. Swindon were unlucky not to convert their chances hitting the post twice. Swindon dropped their tempo and Salisbury capitalised making the score 2-1.
Immediately from the push back Lynsey Wall threaded the ball down the line to Stokes who rounded the defence to lay it back to teenage sensation Chloe Lewis who fired it through the goalies legs to make the final score 2-2.
Following the game man of the match Rachel King said "we battled hard today and it's a shame we didn't convert all our chances".
