This week Swindon were up against top of the league Salisbury.
After an end to end opening ten minutes it was the Swindon who scored first from a short corner. Adriana Boulousa laid the ball off to Linda Brouwers whose shot was perfectly placed in the right corner of the goal. But Salisbury came back strongly. Clare Tyas cleared off the line and Sarah Annstey was forced to make several fine saves. But it was only so long that the home side could prevent the visitors from equalising when the Salisbury attack picked up a failed clearance.
Swindon were soon to get back into the game but got caught out on the break and Sailbury’s quick forwards scored again with a well placed shot meaning the score was 2-1 at half time.
Swindon played some of the best hockey they have played all season in the second half with the whole team giving 100%. Salisbury were starting to get nervous and Swindon had many opportunities with Beth George coming close to scoring. Unfortunately the score remained 2-1 but Swindon will take the good performance into the next game and hopefully get a win.
Defender, Gael Little who made some crucial clearances was player of the match.
