Thanks to Linda for this week's match report:
The first 10min were very much one way traffic, with Shona O'Dwyer, Megan Poole & Lynsey Wall penetrating Gloucester's D, but they couldn't reward their hard work with a goal. Gloucester had a few dangerous breaks but Alexis Hogarth & the Swindon defence denied them to convert their chances. Some great play on the right between Angela Cooke & Rachel King got Swindon a short corner. Chloe Lewis made no mistake and fired a bullet just inside the post. 1-0. Whilst hunting for a 2nd goal, Gloucester also upped their game, and despite some awesome tackling from Charlie Watson & Mary Goldsmith and a few more saves by Lex, they got the equaliser.
After wise words from Adriana Boullosa, Kerry Baker & new coach Lee at half time, Swindon were ready to get their first home win. Gloucester thought differently and scored their 2nd goal. Our attackers worked tirelessly to get a goal back. Julie Russell and Emily Best finally decided that enough was enough, they linked up beautifully with Gemma Scrase & Ads who gained another short corner. Megan fired the ball across the D for goal machine Lyno to deflect it into the roof. 2-2. Unfortunately Gloucester punished Swindon for a lapse of concentration in the last 5 minutes of the match and went away with 3 points.
