Swindon Ladies 1st 5 Cirencester Ladies 1st 2
Vicky Stokes scored 4 goals for Swindon in a comfortable 5-2 win over local rivals Cirencester. Swindon dominated the early stages and were 1-0 in the first 3 minutes when Gemma Scrase released Stokes to score from close range. Poor defending and an inability to clear the ball allowed Cirencester to level but just before half time Stokes grabbed her second goal after Adrianna Boullosa had drawn the goalkeeper out of position.
Swindon extended their lead to 3-1 when Stokes made the most of concerted pressure to score a typically opportunistic close range goal and complete her hat-trick. After Stokes scored her forth from a well worked short corner Cirencester rallied to score with 15 minutes remaining but Swindon scored a fifth when Rachel King fired in a powerful shot at the end of the game.
