old rivals, familiar faces, victory for Swindon

WIN WIN WIN WIN ! - First clean sheet!
Ladies 2's 3 - 0 Cirencester 2's

Ladies 2's managed to keep up the winning streak this week with an absolute cracker of the game showing local rivals who's boss ! Without the usual team and seeing a familiar face in ciren line up (kath) Ladies 2's knew they had a fight on their hands .... and it could have to get ugly! Luckily Swindon got off to a great start scoring early on from our magic woman Sue Roberts after a lovely little run through the ciren defense. We were back in our element using the wings and some brilliant passing, saw us dominate possession. With an outstanding hit by Shona O'Dwyer which amazed everyone including the keeper gave Swindon a healthy lead going into the second half. Swindon managed to keep Ciren's dangerous players out of the game with some great tackles by the defense: our very own beast Michelle Harding, Katie and Sarah Dugmore. Our defense have never spoken so much to each other before in one match! You would be proud Jo Harding. Even though we had a 2-0 lead we knew we would still have to play some of our best hockey to keep the Ciren attack at bay. Swindon managed to carry on this possession and determination into the second half which soon paid off! With the fight on for top goal score still looming, Charlotte Bell and Rhianne Groom were desperate to make their mark and sneak a goal. Charlotte manged to come out on top of this battle today with a great rebound shot, slotting it home and finishing off the game. However I also think you have completely finished off your dignity after your swing and a miss !
This was an usual result for the Ladies as it being our first clean sheet of the season Booya Lucy Anne Smale! Also not one player managed to fall over - Chloe Peppiatt, definitely the shock of the game ?
A great result ladies ! well done, 2 games = 2 wins, lets keep this momentum when we play top team bath next week !
Man of the Match - Katy, on her debut making some fantastic tackles at the back and also some great attacking play.
Donkey of the Day - Charlotte Bell and Me. Charlotte for her swing and a miss and Me (quote) "just because..." and leaving folder at home.

Thank you to our cheerleaders Louise Siddorn and Sarah Mussard. And coachie Eleanor Symons. I'll have pom poms next week !
