Ladies 2's adventure!

Chapter 1: No blues for the 2's
City of Bath 1 - 4 Swindon whoohoooo!!!
The 2's aren't singing the blues today after an absolutely amazing performance by the ladies this week considering we lost 8-2 last year. With no speeding from Jo Harding and everyone managing to turn up...Sue Roberts, Swindon knew things were looking bright especially with Gemma Court lasting the whole journey without chugging. An enthusiastic Swindon were raring to go as soon as the whistle went, putting Bath under immediate pressure. The completely sober Gemma opened the scoring with a great pass from Kim Taylor in the D, tearing open Bath's defence, leaving them helpless and only hearing the ball smack against the backboard. I scored the second after a great pass from Jo or should I say....Joanna , who had an absolute stunner of a game in the middle and in defence. Half time meant glowing smiles and sighs of relief after everyone put 100% effort in and it meant we wouldn't have to listen to Kim anymore, screaming her heart out on the side lines... love the dedication and commitment. Bath came back strong and took advantage of Swindon's speed (lack of) to regroup and pick up players in a long corner, making the score 2-1 and piling on the pressure. Last season we would have cracked under the pressure but the new and feisty 2's came back stronger, showing their determination. Kim Taylor showing her strength, pulled back another 2 goal cushion giving Swindon more hope for the well deserved 3 points from a powerful shot in the D. Lynsey Wall got a well deserved goal quickly after, burying Bath's hopes of any come back. She was also awarded man of the match for her tremendous workload and some unstoppable passes in the middle. Again we were blessed with Sue Roberts runs through the middle and upfront who created numerous chances and always look threatening. Izzy Harding again had a great game at the back, always looking composed on the ball and never panics. Wish I could say the same but that awful stick tackle says otherwise! Scarlet Walton also had a great game who looked confident on her reverse side and bossing her player well. Chloe Peppiatt, well what can I say... tackles were amazing once again even without the bum pads and controlled the game brilliantly always making it look easy, even when shes ill ! Man of the match performance also by Angela Cooke who made some great passes and movement off the ball, creating opportunities for her self which left her defender clueless and hopeless. Heather Knight also made some great runs, always ending up in the right positions and playing some vital passes leading on the counter attack.
Man of the match : Angela and Lyno (They're Grrreeat) both had super games.
Donkey of the Day - Winning by a landslide Gemma Court, hungover and her committed rugby tackle on the opposition ....Don't mess with the 2's ahahha
Bring on the derby match against Bassett next week, You need to win girlies!!! I wanna happy phone call
