Ladies 2's adventure

Ladies 2's adventure: Swindon 2's 6 - 1 Wootten Bassett
Chapter 2: Team work makes the dream work!
An amazing win today ladies with end to end stuff! Swindon took an early lead with Nicola Wylie scoring her first goal of the season after a long break out (not happening again though!) after a cracking pass by Chloe Peppiatt, who wouldn't let me forget her 2 assists. Intensity is not a perfume with Sue Roberts around, who quickly jumped at the opportunity to get her name on the score sheet after a great pass by Emma Brown who smashed it past the keeper, making it 2-0 early on. Angela Cooke made some unstoppable runs down the wings which soon paid off with an opportunity to flick it over the keeper, leaving the poor lady on the post no chance of stopping it. Bassett used some great opportunities to counter attack, making them always dangerous but nothing Helen Niblock couldn't stop, saving our butts a few times in the first half. Charlie Watson also had another great game at the back, preventing the counter attacks and distributing the ball brilliant out wide.
Sometimes it’s not how GOOD you are, but how BAD you want it.... and we wanted it BAD (but we're also good hahaha)! Rab, covering every inch of the pitch, made a super run down the wing to then cut inside and with a her blistering speed tapped it past the keeper making it 4-0 first half. Bassett came back strong in the second half (must be that high intensity perfume) and scored from a well worked short corner. But again with the experienced heads on the pitch and confidence flowing the Ladies didn't drop their heads or concentration and kept playing how we wanted to play. Chloe Peppiatt didn't need the bum pads today with her darting run through the middle, dodging round half of the team to set up Hvk Hvk (Heather Knight), who smashed it into the far post. Scarlet Walton had an amazing game right back, marking her player out the game and made some great interceptions ! Emma Brown had a brilliant debut match, showing great positioning and awareness who did not stop running, showing her determination to fight for every ball. I scored the last goal after a fantastic reverse pass from Angela in D. The rock at the back last season is now our rock in the middle with Jo Harding being as solid as ever, making some great tackles and SOME great passes hahha! But after her jealously of Chloe and Rab pushing forward, the skills broke free and Tass showed everyone why she is always in contention of being a forward with a great run through the middle laying it off perfectly to Nicola.
Well played Girlies, fab win, amazing result. You never know we might be top of the league again for 2 consecutive weeks aaaaaaaah!

Donkey - 'the rock' Tass for dropping all of the "dry" league books all on the "wet" floor and for a interesting hit out .
