Blood, sweat and tears in the battle with Bath Buccs 3's

Bath 3 - 0 Swindon
I don't need reminding to post a match report, especially after this game with the bruises and the memory of Jo Harding's hair is enough to last me a life time and won't be forgetting anytime soon. A massive improvement on performance from everyone on the team against an organised and strong Bath team. Swindon struggled to gain possession in the first half but with Chloe Peppiatt controlling the back and communicating well, we managed to hold off most of their attacks with some great tackles from Scarlet Walton and Helen Niblock. With the possession we did have we manage to create some chances but never managed to have the end product to put us ahead. Unfortunately a lack of concentration cost Swindon the first goal after some great play by Bath in the first half. But on a positive note we lasted a good 30 minutes holding them off without making Mollie Selwood make a save. Swindon certainly did a good job in building pressure on the Bath side, giving us a chance to get back in the game.
Swindon were fast out of the blocks in the second half after a few alterations with Angela Cooke doing a fantastic job in the middle, giving the ladies their mojo back. With only a one goal cushion and after coming close to scoring, Bath fought back. Things went a bit 'tits up' afterwards...sorry for the pun, with Sue Roberts talking her way into a yellow card and a few short corners later, Bath increased their lead. The ladies never gave up though and always tried to find a way back into the game but top of the league Bath closed up shop. Bethany George gave a good battle up front, constantly hassling and some great passes. Even without a win, Swindon are still in a very respectable 4th in the table which is such a big improvement from last seasons position of bottom. The future is looking bright for the 2's with the hardest teams in the league played with players always giving exciting performances.
Man of the Match : Chloe P filling in for the 'rock' Jo at the back, giving an absolutely outstanding performance. Some great tackles and blocks and her calling and control over the game was unbelievable
Donkey: Who else would it be....Sue Roberts. I think the t-shirt says it all "it wasn't me"
Keep it up Ladies and bring on the re-match after Christmas (Potato's at the ready Chlo).
