Festive Cheer and Beer all round

Swindon Ladies 2's Adventure: Swindon 2 - 1 Chippenham 3's
Festive cheer and a pint of beer all around !
A Great win before Christmas leaving Swindon in a strong mid table position, not having to worry about how many potatoes they eat over the break..Chloe Peppiatt I'll be watching
Swindon started off slowly but gradually grew into the game always looking dominant over the opposition. After some excellent link up play from Sue Roberts and Kim Taylor, Swindon managed to take the lead after Kimmy Kim slotted it comfortably passed the keepers legs. Confidence now flowing, Swindon made some good runs with Angela Cooke down the wing and Jo Harding/Chloe Peppiatt in the middle. Communication between the 2 in the middle was...almost perfect with a cheeky leave or pass (no one knows) from Tass to Chloe, who had no idea, let the ball go and unfortunately paid the price at teas FINE! Half time left Swindon feeling positive but knowing we would have to up our game both defensively and in attack if we were going to fend off Chippenham's speedy counter. With Chip starting strong our defense had to pull off some outstanding tackles and blocks with Helen Niblock making some superb tackles and even managing to place it on a foot after being heavily under pressure (she claims she didn't on purpose but shhhh it was great!). Charlie Watson also made some great runs and even managed to play it on a couple of feet...just a shame it was my own (twice!) Lynsey Wall I think I've been watching you too much, I'll need the wig back now. Bethany George also had another fantastic game and was unlucky not to score a couple of times after a few good saves from the keeper. With Chip pushing in the dying minutes of the game, it opened up the perfect opportunity for a counter attack and my god it was ! After a lovely pass from Daisy Mussard to Gemma Court around the half way line, Gem ran the rest of the pitch to then, as calmly as you like, push it past the keeper making it 2-0. Forrest Gump would be proud ! Swindon were unlucky not to keep a clean sheet but the main thing is we didn't drop our heads and kept confident that we could win ! Well played everyone though ! excellent performance to the first half of the season and we have already managed to score more point this half then we did the entire of last season so well done everyone ! Also the biggest improvement is that Jo Harding and I havent received Donkey once this half of the season! that definitely deserves a medal
Man of the Match - Gemma: outstanding run, outstanding goal, outstanding performance
Donkey: Rabbit: who "over-exaggerated" her ball placement and received a green card for it.
Merry Christmas Everyone x
