Match report from Chloe:
Swindon started strong with the majority of the possession, wearing our new H&W sponsored shirts. A few short corners were awarded to us but there was no goal from them. Our defenders kept moving the ball around the back and managed to pass it through to Rebecca Davies who beat multiple defenders and finished her run with a reverse stick shot which found the backboard, putting Swindon ahead 1-0. Corsham kept the pressure on, winning multiple short corners. We managed to hold them off after a few short corners but, unfortunately, Corsham moved the ball around in the D and which found its way to the back of the net. The score was 1-1 at half time.
Our press was strong from the start of the second half and we had a few chances, although Corsham managed to break through and won a short corner against us. This resulted in a goal, but it was disallowed because Sarah Anstey‘s keen eyes noticed that the ball wasn’t brought outside the D. Shortly after, Chloe Silvester received the ball at the half way line and dribbled up the left wing, beating 4 or 5 players and shooting from the top of the circle, scoring at the near post. Swindon were then 2-1 up. After another short corner against us, Corsham managed to equalise.
The final score was Corsham 2-2 Swindon.
