Thanks to Michele for this week's match report:
Attacks from both teams was fairly even for the first 15 minutes but City of Bath soon dominated with strong centre play. A linked pass across our D and a fine shot on goal led to their first goal. Seven minutes away from half time we conceded our second, after a bit of miscommunication and a goal mouth scramble. In the process GK 'sazzle' was attempting to join the Olympic gymnastics team with various splits here and there, resulting in some form of hamstring injury. The up and coming break was well deserved!
Everyone was positive after the team talk from Karen and ready to dig in deep, but City of Bath had other ideas. Five quick passes and again a powerful strike into the corner meant they were three goals up. The game then went from end to end, with us securing two penalty corners but alas no backboard. Once again with only a few minutes to go, a poor clearance on our behalf, led to their fourth goal.
Although a four nil defeat, we tested the opposition at times and just needed that finishing touch to complete our attacks. Everyone gave their best, so much so that we had 8 nominations for PoM! A big well done to Eve for her first senior debut. She impressed us all with her constant running and even more so with her serving skills at teas!
