Ladies 2nd XI 0 - 5 Corsham

Thanks to Michèle for this week's match report:

We were really up for this game, what with two weeks of no league hockey, wind swept conditions, playing top of the league, Corsham and Jo being called out on an emergency (no subs).

So after a very disciplined warm-up of cheering on the Mens 3rds, adjusting Angela's kickers and general chit chat, our focus was second to none.

Remarkably we held them off for 15 minutes or so before a burst through the middle produced their first goal, and soon after their second. Fortunately the umpires disallowed it, but being an empathetic team we thought we'd give them another chance before the half time whistle. Two nil to Corsham.

Wise words from Julie Russell ' the structures not quite right' made us think but somehow not act so we decided to get injured instead. Jo Harding drove a lovely lifted ball directly on Chloe Silvester's knee, not quite point blank range, whilst Michele Harding decided to block a direct hit on goal also with her kneecap. In between these dramatic scenes, they deservedly scored three more and that's how it ended.

So all in all another entertaining Saturday and a marvellous debut by Danii, playing assertive hockey on the forward line.
