Thanks to Becky for this week's match report:
The Ladies 2nds enjoyed the sunny weather at Chippenham a little too much and started slowly, but after some strong encouragement from our travelling cheer squad of Karen Silvester, Swindon started to let the ball do the work and got some lovely passes moving between Emily Howse and Chloe Silvester which led to a short corner and on our second attempt it was slotted home by Hope Stevenson to put Swindon 1 up. This galvanised Swindon who started to press forward with the support of Ella Caldwell and Joops which pinned Chippenham back in their own half, Kim Taylor was able to run at the Chippenham defence and won a number of shorts but Chippenham held strong until Faith pounced on to a rebound to pop it over the keeper to make it 0-2 before half time.
Swindon started strongly in the second half as Katie Miles made some timely runs out of defence to attack the D, unfortunately Jasmine's great runs weren't able to be rewarded with a goal. Swindon took their foot off the gas which allowed Chippenham to counter attack, Tassive made some timely tackles to keep Chippenham at bay but a quick counter attack caught Swindon napping and they hit the ball beyond the diving Angela Tovey to make it 1-2.
Swindon remainder composed and Joops and Ella pressed forward again, on yet another short corner Becky beautifully connected with a reverse shot only for it to be stopped in its tracks by the face mask of Chippenham player, and the mask did it's job but it was definitely it's last outing, sorry mask! Emily Howse and Kim Taylor kept pressing for a third but it was Chloe who picked up a long corner off Joops before gliding through the Chippenham defence and swiping a lovely reverse shot into the corner beyond the reach of the keeper which secured a much needed win for Swindon.
Mom - Chloe and Joops. Fantastic link up in central midfield, they controlled the game from start to finish.
