Great Performance by the Girls

Ladies 2's lost (ONLY) 2-1 to Team Bath Buccs, who may I add are joint top of the league!
Swindon Ladies played brilliantly and it definitely felt like we had won the 3 points at the end of the match even though the score line doesn't reflect it nor does the league table. However the ladies finally had a fantastic game were everyone played really well as a team and everything came together.
Swindon conceded the first goal in the last 5 minutes of the first half due to some great skill by one of the bath players in the D which lead to a goal. But when conceding the next goal being 2-0 down Swindon still kept their composure (which we have struggled with) and keeping our heads up we managed to sneak a short corner which the unstoppable Michelle Harding put away, making her Ladies top goal scorer so far (Well done !). - *just to add for all those men who believe in woman's hockey the center back and sweeper just stand in their defending D all game and don't do anything, your wrong as Michelle plays this position ! And Jo Harding certainly doesnt after a courageous run through the middle of the park and reaching the D and after attempting a good swing for the ball, ended up having a very comical fall and landing on the floor.
But things are looking very positive for the Ladies now as players are starting to grow into their new found positions Lucy Anne Smale in goal, Lou right half (unfortunately Louise Siddorn I only mean position not height) and Chloe Peppiatt in midfield. Man of the Match was Sarah Dugmore ! a great game for her with some amazing tackles preventing many chances and some great stops after bath's short corners (after giving away 8 short corners herself) - Well deserved though !!!
Looking forward to playing the other team joint at the top of the table Devizes in a few weeks were Swindon hope to get their first 3 points !
