season closing in

Swindon draw 4 - 4 against North Wilts.
What a fantastic result against a 3rd placed team!
Swindon didn't get off to the best of starts going 2-0 down early on in the game and the yellow card didn't help, from what it seems a ridiculous decision !! - can't get the umpires these days. But the ladies did fantastically well and didn't drop their heads for a second, with the sides going back to 11, Swindon managed to pull one back with a great strike from Charlotte Bell. Lynsey Wall then pounced on the opportunity to slot on past the keeper after a rebound from a well worked short corner by Linda Brouwers. Despite going another goal down, the ladies never gave up and then managed to earn a penalty flick which Lyno put away comfortably. The game was constantly attack then defend by both sides but north wilts managed to make use of some powerful players and slot one past the keeper Lucy Anne Smale who made some fab saves just before. Swindon didnt stop there though. Lyno, keen for her hat-trick led the attack again down the left and scored a well deserved goal.
Everyone had a great game, Sue Roberts had a great game in the middle of the park, setting up goals and some great offensive runs. Jo Harding, again the wall and the back putting a great defensive performance, a player who is always on form! Chloe Peppiatt despite having a rocky half time, pulled through and made some great tackles at the back. Linda Brouwers, an absolute pleasure to have, was brilliant at the back with some great tackles ....a few golf swings too! Sarah Dugmore put in another outstanding performance who cleared so many balls out of the D, a great performance throughout the whole game ! Rhianne Groom also had a good upfront and made some brilliant tackles in the dying seconds of the game to help Swindon hold on.
Well played Ladies, a great result! Swindon go to Melksham next week needing nothing but a win !
Man of the match - Lynesy Wall for a hat-trick and who was unstoppable !
Donkey - Me ....again... Yellow Card (stupid, out of order)
Thank you to coachie Eleanor Symons and Nicci Foster-Kenyon for all their support and calling from the sides. A massive help, really appreciate it !!
