Whitchurch A 3 Swindon 1

Another tale of two halves as an ironman Swindon let slip another lead to a side benefiting from multiple substitutes.

Swindon again started well, with good work between Luke Cejer and Phil Scarisbrick leading to the ball bouncing through to Towers, who batted the ball beyond the diving keeper on the reverse for his second in two games. Swindon continued to push hard but failed to capitalise on opportunities created. Whitchurch offered little going forward and the half finished 1-0 to the visitors.

The second half saw Swindon start to tire, 11 men chasing 14+ allowing Whitchurch back into the game. A well taken short corner saw the hosts draw level, before a smartly taken finish put Church in front with 15 to go. As Swindon pressed for the equaliser, gaps appeared and the home side scored again to settle the result and leave Swindon despondent after a good start.
