Mens 1's vs Cardiff and Met B

Swindon's good start to the second half of the season came to an abrupt end at top of the league Cardiff.

Swindon competed well with the robust hosts early in the game, however the students managed the game well and took advantage of some weak umpiring. The first goal came around 15 minutes in, with a Swindon challenge in the circle bouncing the ball onto a Cardiff stick, giving Alan Gough no chance. A second followed shortly afterwards with more slack defending allowing Cardiff to coast until half time with a two goal lead.

The second half saw two further goals for the hosts. Swindon continued to try hard but lacked the guile to affect the game in a positive way. Jim Towers scored a late consolation, but it was never more than that.

Next week we host another Cardiff based side; Whitchurch A. Our start is still a good one, Luke Cejer commenting that if we had been told before Christmas that we'd win 3 of our first 4, he'd have taken that.
