Swindon Men's 1s 4 - 2 University of Exeter C

Swindon Men's 1s made the long journey to Exeter. Going into the match Captain Thomas Gillingham had said "If we score more goals than they do, then we will win the game".

From the start Swindon absorbed the pressure the young Exeter side tried to exert and proceeded to release striker Thomas Wickins blistering pace at the far end of the pitch to take the lead in the game.

A second quickly followed from a short corner with Dave "The barron" Miles hammering home a low hit from a short corner.

The students were resilient though pouncing on a loose ball at the back post.

Swindon were however quick to respond to this threat. Scoring after a ball was fired in towards the Exeter goalie, who mistakenly gifted Thomas Sewell a easy finish.

The half finished 3-2. Coach Rob was pleased with the performance so far and after some wise words Swindon set out to continue their success.

The second half remained goalless for some time with both teams having opportunities. The deadlock was broken by Dave "The barron" Miles after a well choreographed short corner.

Down but not out the students rallied pushing forward, and creating a number of chances on the Swindon goal. It was however to little to late. Swindon closed the game out winning 4-2.
