Return to winning ways

Swindon recorded their first win in months as they beat the visitors from Cardiff who are also struggling to maintain their Premiership league status, Tom Gillingham putting the home side ahead minutes into the game with a great deflection putting the GK no chance, but the lead didn’t last long as the Cardiff striker made the most of some poor Swindon defending and beat GK Gough at the 3rd attempt. With minutes of the 1st half remaining it was Luke Cejer that scored one of the goals of the season, picking it up on his reverse his unstoppable shot gave the keeper no chance as it flew into the far corner of the goal off the underside of the crossbar. Swindon made had work of the second half with attacks after attacks coming to nothing, with the home side again being unable to capitalise on the chance that they had, but within less than five minutes of the half remaining it was Tom Wickens that settled the home sides nerves with a well taken goal, sealing a 3-1 home win.

This coming Saturday will be the biggest game of the season against ECV Hornets, with a win over fellow league strugglers ECV it might be enough to keep Swindon HC in the Premiership for the 13/14 season, all the action starts at Isambard School, North Swindon at 12.30pm.
