Swindon A nee B 0 v Somerset Gryphons 5

Quite a result for what was a team made up of 90% Swindon B players that only a couple of season ago were a D team and no less than 4 goalkeepers playing out field.
The first half looked positive as we nervously set out on our David v Goliath assault. We had our chances and the 20 minutes anyone could have scored. Although Gryphons were obviously the better drilled side they failed on all but 2 occasions to fire home a goal only mistakes made by the Swindon defence allowing the opposition a 2 - 0 lead into the second half.
That was where it began to unravel though, Swindon now tiring from playing 2 leagues above their normal standard started to falter, Gryphons now commanding the game had us on our backfoot lungs hurting legs weakening. We still defended tirelessly Grypons only claiming another 3 goals from dubious circumstances, but a brave outing for Swindon non the less and I like to thank all players for their brilliance especially Steve Keating & Niall Thielen for holding our hands in what was an alien playground.
