Swindon 3 - 6 Mendip
An important day for Swindon Men’s 2nd XI, being the final game of the year, against 2nd in the league.
Match report by Nathan:
The start of the first half was slightly sceptical. When our centre back accidentally gave away a short corner, that they scored, and then a penalty flick, that they missed. By half time, Swindon were 5-1 down.
At half time, Luke Cej kindly gave the team a step by step guide on how to control an aerial. Unfortunately Luke was unable to follow his own advice, when it came to trapping aerials. However, Swindon were buoyed on by both Christmas spirit and their steadily improving performance.
Two short corners were won in the second half, both of which were drag flicked in to the back of the net by their talismanic centre back.
The second half finished 2-1 to Swindon, which apparently doesn’t give you any points in the league, but bodes well for the second half of the season.
