Thanks to Richard for this week's match report:
Today's trip to the historic town of Bath (we'll make the journey five times before the season is over) was an early one. With yours truly relegated to the sideline after picking up an injury at training (yes, I fell over again), the team morale was high.
Happily, Swindon didn't disappoint. It was clear that Nathan Sutton's coaching (thanks for stepping up on Wednesday, Nathan) was going to bear fruit as the team made space and consistently pushed forward, looking promising on the attack and solid in defence. We were unlucky to concede in the 27th minute but kept pushing for the rest of the first half. Ed Hickey made a save so incredible, it drew gasps of appreciation from the opposition. Just another Saturday for Ed.
A shot on goal from Alastair Young missed the mark by the smallest of margins, so much so that spectators and players alike celebrated prematurely. No matter. We gathered for the halftime chat feeling we'd played the best half of the season.
Despite conceding 3 goals in the second half, we were able to celebrate with Alastair finding the back of the goal and a few short corner opportunities. All told, this was a team that played as a team, with positive attitudes and good discipline. Every player can be proud of their efforts today.
MOTM goes to Matt Greenwood who showed great improvements in the midfield and generally had an excellent game.
