Thanks to Richard for this week's match report:
Here we are again, Swindon's bottom team facing Corsham's top team. Coincidentally, that's also how we are positioned in the East Central 1 table. This time we were the visitors.
Swindon came out the blocks strong, brimming with confidence. As has been a common theme in recent weeks, we held the opposition off for a good chunk of the first half and we got to see a fair bit of their half of the field.
However, a well drilled Corsham side eventually managed to get through our defences, being awarded a few corners in the process.
Being 3-0 down when the half time whistle blew, the memorable moment of the chat was "stuff this half court press, we need to attack and score goals" (or something to that effect) from Mr Birnie.
And lo, the Swindon goal came from that attacking mentality which was demanded at the break. Nathan Frost got the ball into the D and found Andy Birnie who slotted home with the confidence of Dwayne Johnson entering a wrestling arena.
General agreement in the changing room after the game (which is of course all that really matters) was that the final two Corsham goals were incredibly lucky and shouldn't have been allowed, one coming when Sam fell over after a solo run up the left which gave the oppo the ball. So really, the second half was a 1-1 draw.
MOTM was awarded to Ethan Teale for a great performance in midfield.
