Scarisbrick does the trick for Swindon.

Today saw a much anticipated rematch for most against West Wilts B. The question was were they going to bring their normal outfit, or their travelling one. The latter would be nice as we were missing the likes of Callum Bird, Jordan McKenzie and Andrew Kettlewell. Availability was so poor we had to pull Matt "Chuncey" Bunce from underneath a pile of his own filth (probably) and get him to play.

Luckily a few West Wilts players got lost and the game was started. Swindon did not capitalise on this though and West Wilts soon had their full compliment.

The deadlock was broken just over midway though the first half. With a barrage of bodies in the D, an attempt at a reverse stick shot was made from the top. This shot was scuffed and dribbled towards the far post where a West Wilts attacker had left his marker and left himself an easy tap in.

After Captain Alex Hynes's team talk telling us we had to work as a unit, take the game to them and go at them hard, that is exactly what Phil Scarisbrick did. From not too shy of the halfway line, from the left, Phil started on a Jordan McKenzie esq. run, banking in on on goal and slotting the ball passed the keeper on his near post.

Moments later Phil scored again. The ball popped loose and rolled towards Phil waiting at the top of the D. Before getting crunched by the oncoming defender he released the shot which found the bottom right corner of the goal.

Not much else significant happened after that. Besides the occasional stick tackle, call of feet and a crunching sliding log from the Swindon keeper, the game was played in very good spirit. Swindon didn't suffer the trademark final 10 minute dip towards the end either, probably because they hadn't really switched on all game so it went unnoticed...
