Debutant Captain K can't make it Swindon's day.

The penultimate home game of the season saw Swindon host Yate A. Swindon were desperate to get one over this Yate side which were victorious in the dying seconds of the game the last time the two sides met. It wasn't going to be too easy though without Captain Alex Hynes who was playing up to help out the second team. No worries though; Tom Kerslake was at the reins for the day...

Halfway through first, Yate were on the scoreboard through a moment of controversy. Yate worked the ball down Swindon's left bit the ball being hit up around groin height into the D which was then tipped by a lone advancing attacker not far off the P spot, leaving keeper Kerslake both rooted and confused.

Not too far into the second half, Yate doubled their lead through a short corner. The first shot was charged down right at the top of the D with the ball going straight back to the striker who moved round to his right, realising the shot which just went over the Swindon keeper's stacked pads.

Swindon instantly responded by converting a short corner. Phil Scarisbrick injected to Deep Reyatt waiting at the top of the D who slapped it back to Phil waiting on the post to dink it in.

Not a bad performance overall. Again though, the midfield needs to communicate better as there were many occasions again were multiple midfielders were marking the same person and space. Change it for next week boys and it will be easy defending and more goals!
