Swindon sink the Ancient Mariners.

Foggy is a word that can be used to describe the conditions at Bath and the heads of some people who participated in the pub golf social the night before. Apologies if the goals are in the incorrect order, visibility was poor! So this report has been put together through a combination of Facebook responses and the Buccs match report.

Swindon were first on the scoreboard through a defensive mistake the Buccs, eventually leaving Thomas Roblin a simple tap in.

Buccs had an opportunity to level the scores soon later with an attacker creeping towards the to of the D ready to tee off. He drew back the stick and waited for the ball to roll over the line before striking, but released the trigger too soon. Declan Cullen and keeper Kerslake allowed the shot to be taken and hit the backboard, thinking it was outside, with the Buccs convinced it was inside. The umpire had the final call and rightfully deemed it outside.

Before long, Swindon were back in The Buccs half. Jordan McKenzie and Thomas Roblin linked up well, playing a one two pass between them and Jordan placing the ball under the advancing Buccs keeper. It was one way traffic in the direction of the Buccs half throughout the remainder of the half through Swindon dominance and pressure, and with the aid of some scruffy Buccs passing.

Buccs had a perfect opportunity to reduce the deficit with an attacker driving hard along the base line towards the post. The ball was then passed across the goal to a lone attacker, putting a powerful strike on goal which was denied by a full stretch diving stick save along the floor by keeper Kerslake; a carbon copy of one of yesterday's save. High fives all round followed.

Swindon goals continued to flow in the second half as a result of more Buccs defensive errors and poor clearances. Another tap in for Thomas Roblin and a calm finish to a fine cross got Andrew Kettlewell on the scorecard.

As has been the case many times this season for Swindon, the win was in sight, but with 10 minutes remaining, Swindon crumbled. Buccs punished the travelling side for their lack of focus. First of all through a short corner which was slipped to the left and put past the keepers left glove.

Buccs pushed again and moments later were awarded another short corner, again played off to the left and struck well towards the inside post, just past the keepers stretched right leg.

All in all, a much improved performance from yesterday's game against City of Bath A. More of the same next week please against West Wilts B!
