Ladies 1s continue their winning ways

Swindon got off to a great start in the last of their friendly matches. 56 seconds into the half Swindon were awarded a short corner. Chloe Lewis struck the ball cleanly into the goal giving the home side the lead.

The first half stayed at 1 - 0 with Swindon having most of the possession but unable to breakdown the Witney defence.

The second half started with Swindon pressing hard, Adrianna Boullosa put a through ball in to Lewis who passed it on to Lynsey Wall to score Swindons second goal of the match.

Some lovely link up play by Hope Stevenson and Gemma Scrase lead to Captain Arianna Boullosa scoring Swindons third goal.

Shortly after Wall scored Swindons fourth goal and her second.

Swindon demonstrated some great play and the defence held strong rarely allowing Witney to get into D.

Swindons fifth goal came after Linda Brouwers put a ball in for Victoria Stokes who dispatched the ball into the net first time.

Despite the scoreline Swindon continued to press hard and it wasnt long before Angela Cooke fired a ball across the D for Wall to pounce on to secure her hatrick.

Witney did manage to get 2 short corners but the Swindon defence stopped anything getting through to keeper Sarah Anstey.

Swindons seventh goal is being claimed by Boullosa (it was actually a deflection by a Witney defender from a ball that was going wide.......allegedly!!!).

Well done ladies, great effort in today's heat and well done to Katie Miles and Kim Taylor making their debut for ladies 1s today.

Ladies 1s travel to Chippenham next week for their first league match of season.
