Swindon Ladies 1's record a victory away in Cheltenham

Swindon Ladies 1st earned back to back league wins after a mature performance gave them a well deserved 1-0 away victory over Cheltenham 2nds.

Swindon started in the ascendancy and pressurised Cheltenham from the start. After 8 minutes the only goal of the game was scored by Swindon captain Vicki Stokes from a well worked short corner.

Although Cheltenham rallied and the game was more even for the remaining minutes of the 1st half, Swindon retained their advantage at the interval.

The second half was dominated by Swindon and much of the game was played in the Cheltenham half. Shona O'Dwyer and Linda Brouwers commanded the game through midfield and the defensive combination of Julie Lewis and Claire Sage were rarely troubled. Extensive attacking pressure did not end in another goal, but it was a well deserved win for Swindon.
