Swindon ladies 1st XI still top of the league

"Double hat trick sparks Swindon win"

Swindon smashed seven past local rivals Marlborough to remain top of the West Premier 2a league.

Swindon's free scoring forwards only took three minutes take the lead after a strong run from Gemma Scrase ended with a cross to Hannah Lewis who scored from close range.

As Swindon commanded the early encounters and regularly pressurised the Marlborough circle, Adriana Boullosa grabbed two quick goals. The first came from a low shot following some excellent play from Charlie George and the second was a complete individual master class. Boullosa used her skills to beat three players and then slip the ball past the goalkeeper at the near post.

There was one more goal before the break as continued pressure and attacking play from Chloe Lewis was followed up by the experienced Scrase who calmly slotted the ball home.

Marlborough came back into the game at the start of the second half forcing a penalty corner but it was the stronger Swindon team that again dominated play.

Hannah Lewis quickly notched up two goals to compete a well deserved hat-trick. One came from a well executed penalty corner and one from an exquisite reverse stick pass from Chloe Lewis to make the score 6-0.

Not wanting to be kept out of the headlines, Boullosa completed her own hat trick by smashing a rocket shot past the Marlborough keeper.

After the game, Swindon hat trick hero Hannah Lewis reaffirmed the teams view "we were well prepared and really took the game to them. Getting three goals was a great personal achievement but I am still hungry for more goals."
