Ladies 1's vs Marlborough 1's

It was a rocky start with swindon taking their time to get into the zone. Many chances were created but with a strong goalie performance from the home team Swindon were struggling. Great link up between Victoria Stokes and Chloe Lewis created many opportunities for Swindon, with Stokes narrowly missing from a close distance dive. The first goal of the match was scored when joint man of the match, Gemma Scrase, fired an amazing ball into the D for Stokes to hit home and secure Swindon's lead. The unfortunate absence of Craig sage and his well-known magnetic board Swindon were unable to find the back of the net again in the first half, Kerry's half time talk did the trick and Swindon were able to score a 2nd goal from a well worked short corner after great work between Linda Brouwers, Lewis and Stokes resulting in a 2-0 lead. Swindon were not able to keep the clean sheet for long when Marlborough scored their first with a touch from a straight strike this lead to the final score of 2-1 to Swindon. A strong tackle from Scrase on our 16yd lead to a further green card, not for Scrase but for the Lynsey Wall, as the umpires couldn't decide who had made the tackle!, Lyno taking one for the team.
