The visitors direct style of hockey caused problems for the Swindon defence and they held most of the possession in the first half. Only the agile goalkeeping of Sarah Anstey and brave defending of Claire Tyas kept the score at 0-0.

Swindon started the second half with an invigorated approach which led to their first goal after six minutes. Teenager Chloe Lewis latched onto a pass from Adrianna Bollousa and her reverse stick shot fired into the far corner.

Continued Swindon pressure forced a penalty corner and captain Gemma Scrase pounced onto a rebounded save to score Swindon's second goal.
