Swindon Ladies 1st 3 - Gloucester Ladies 2nd 2

Swindon secured back to back wins by defeating Gloucester. Their intent was clear as they scored in the first minute when Adriana Boullosa bust through to release captain Vicky Stokes who slotted the ball accurately past the keeper.

The Swindon pressure continued and after ten minutes desperate defending led to a penalty stroke that captain Stokes ruthlessly dispatched high into the net.

While Swindon continued to press, sloppy midfield play allowed Gloucester to break and their first foray led to a goal. Undeterred, Swindon continued to put Gloucester under pressure and forced a defensive mistakes by the visitors. Gemma Scrase capitalised on the loose ball and crossed to Rachel King who ruthlessly scored her second goal in two games.

Gloucester were pressed into their own half for most of the second half but Swindon were unable to capitalise with Beth George coming close to extending Swindon lead. As the game ended, Gloucester grabbed a consolation breakaway goal, but Swindon remained strong to secure three points.
