Swindon Ladies 2s 0 - 7 Bath Buccs 4s

So the 2nd team game was always going to be an uphill struggle before we started. We were missing some key players but Michele had enlisted her daughter Izzy (Harding) to come back from uni and play which at least gave us a glimmer of hope. Sadly the glimmer of hope was extinguished pretty quickly. To be honest the whole game was a bit of a blur so in no particular order this is what I can remember about what happened. Faith Jolleys had a great chance and got a blood injury diving for the goal but sadly her efforts were not rewarded with a goal. Becky Davies did some great defending including the odd swing and miss trying to get that perfect full pitch pass through the Bath attack. Katie Miles, Becky, Emily and Izzy had to run out at a barrage of short corners but the Bath forward play was both clinical and organised and over powered our best efforts several times.

Angela was gallant in goal, she even managed to catch the ball between her legs at one point and then kick it away before those feisty Bath forwards got a sniff of it. Eve made some great tackles playing out of position in defence. Jo made some great runs on the right and a half time tactical switch with Emily allowed her to link up with Izzy, Kim and Jasmine for a chance at goal. We did however have some periods of good play and we did get into the Bath D on a few occasions and even had an attacking short corner or too, but the final score was 7-0 so perhaps back to the drawing board for next week!
