Thanks to Becky for this week's match report:
Swindon ladies had a strong team going in to this game. Swindon started very strong, with the midfields making many movements to get the balls up to the forwards who were making very hard work for Wootton Bassett defenders. We won multiple short corners in the first half, and despite us attempting numerous routines, Swindon were unable to convert. The first half ended 0-0.
The second half started with a lot more pace and structure from Wootton Basset, and put us under pressure from the whistle. Our defence remained strong and worked hard to keep the opposition from scoring. During this half both Emily Howse and Kim Taylor got green cards which gave Wootton Bassett an upper hand. Both sides were rewarded with multiple short corners but it wasn’t until the last 15 mins when Wootton Bassett were able to score with a deflection on the far post. Following this, Swindon put even more pressure on Wootton Bassett and with the last play of the game, we were rewarded a short. We came close, however didn’t manage to convert. Last score was 0-1
